Cesenatico is a commune of 23.780 inhabitants of the province of Forlì-Cesena. It is an important bathing station and tourist destination that it is found on the Adriatic sea between Rimini and Ravenna. To Cesenatico the museum of the navy is found besides, of which part is composed from the ships that they are moored to the I bring, more main point among the whole transport Lugger, on which is possible to climb. In the Christmas period, (from the first one of December to January 6) on the boats of the museum of the navy, on the I bring channel, a very suggestive manger is prepared, with the greatness characters of man.

Cesenatico and the sea are one and the same thing. The ancient coloured sails of the Marine Museum, which greet the people who arrive and leave tell of this. As far as we know, the town was founded in 1302: nearby Cesena needed a port for its traffic and perhaps for military use. After a succession of events Cesenatico developed above all into a fishing port. Touched by the history of days gone by, Cesenatico has been, for one hundred years, both an important and renown tourist location.

Originally a fishing village, and the centre of daily life is still the Port Canal built at the beginning of the 14th century.
At the beginning of the 16th century, the great Leonardo da Vinci was commissioned by Cesare Borgia, Duke Valentino, to improve the structure of the port and extend the length of the piers.
Today it teems with typical restaurants well-known for their seafood cuisine, and hosts the old boats with their colourful sails which belong to the Maritime Museum.
